The Original Seafood Professionals Are Now At Roland
Restaurant! Singapore
- 1 September 2000. From a humble two-table makeshift stall that is lighted by
only a kerosene lamp, the original seafood advocates have now found a new home
in Marine Parade Central.
Said
Managing Director, Roland Lim, "When my father first started the seafood
business, he was motivated by people relaxing under palm trees on a white sandy
beach along Kallang River. Today, we no longer can afford the luxury of this natural
ambience, but we have compensated with creative seafood cuisine that will definitely
offer value for money." At
their newly renovated Restaurant, which includes classy corporate function rooms,
seafood diehards can still find the original Chilli Crab, Black Sauce Prawns and
Crispy baby Squids. However, new additions such as Honey Tangy Fish and Bamboo
Clams in special sauce may well be the next generation of original seafood dishes
if Roland allows it. "We
want to offer our customers a culinary experience that they will never forget,
and we want them to talk about it just as word spread in my father's time,"
said Roland. "Quality seafood that is tasty and fresh is our trademark
and we intend to continue this tradition." Roland

Business hours are from 1130 hours to 1430 hours (Lunch) and 1730 hours to 2230
hours (Dinner). Corporate and Wedding reservations are welcome. About

Choon Ngee (Formally of Palm Beach Seafood at Bedok), was the original seafood
entrepreneur during the fifties. Today, the elder Lims are in retirement, while
Roland and brother, Richard hold the reins in their new set-up.
